Hoe ziet het theater van de toekomst eruit? Welke rol zal technologie daarin spelen? Hoe vertellen we de verhalen van morgen met de technologie van vandaag? Prikkel je oren met de interactieve audio experience ‘The Dreamer’ van Dan Xu & Lieke van der Vegt. Verken de grenzen van echte en virtuele ruimtes in de VR experience 'Shifting Borders’ gecreëerd door Wei-Hsuan Huang. En ervaar de experience 'Excavation Mark'van Mette Sterre, een performance met een combinatie van motion capture, photogrammetry en lichtprojecties.
Behalve deze experiences was er nog meer te zien en ontdekken over de ontwikkelingen in het Innovation:Lab van dit eerste pilotjaar en hoe de experiences tot stand zijn gekomen. Je kon het prototype bekijken van de AR experience die Dwayne Toemere & Florian Jankowski vorig jaar maakten en met de live animaties van de voorstelling De Kleine Zeemeermin spelen. Er waren filmpjes met interviews met de makers, je kon aanschuiven bij een van de talks, je vragen stellen aan de makers, en een drankje of hapje bestellen bij de bar.
Innovation:Lab is een initiatief van Theater Utrecht – in samenwerking met DOX en de HKU – dat in januari 2021 van start is gegaan. Doel is om samen met andere makers en creatieven de komende jaren te bouwen aan het theater van morgen. Lees meer: www.theaterutrecht.nl/innovatielab.
What does the theater of the future look like? What role will technology play in this? How do we tell the stories of tomorrow with the technology of today? Indulge your ears at the interactive audio experience ‘The Dreamer’ created by Dan Xu and Lieke van der Vegt. Explore the boundaries of real and virtual spaces in the VR experience ´Shifting Borders’ created by Wei-Hsuan Huang and experience the performance 'Excavation Mark' by Mette Sterre created with a combination of motion capture, photogrammetry and light projection.
Besides these experiences you will also be able to explore the Innovation:Lab and its developments of this first pilot year even more, learning about how these experiences have been created. Explore AR with the prototype created by Dwayne Toemere & Florian Jankowski, try playing as the live controlled characters from De Kleine Zeemeermin. Check out the interviews on film, sit down at a talk, ask your questions at the makers, or get some food or drinks at the bar.
