Women and genderqueers have to suffer, and their complaints are rarely believed. Think of menstruation, sex, having an IUD fitted, abortions, fertility treatments, childbirth, menopause, and illness. But who actually decides how much suffering there should be? And on the other hand: how much pleasure are we allowed to feel? To what extent do we have control over our pain and pleasure?
