Theater Utrecht is pursuing an ambitious course as the city company of the future. The company has strong local roots and is making its mark nationally and internationally. Under the leadership of creative director Anne Breure, and with (inter)national creators Carolina Bianchi, Casper Vandeputte, Cherish Menzo, Floor Houwink ten Cate, Jaha Koo and Naomi Velissariou, we create high-profile performances for a diverse audience.

From theater to debate, from dance to documentaries and inspiring activities that we organize together with social partners, we give underrepresented voices and stories a platform to make a significant and lasting impact on audiences, the arts sector, and society as a whole. Theater Utrecht is an enterprising and robust organization that will once again be part of the national cultural basic infrastructure (BIS) in the coming years.

A crucial next phase for the city company as a center for the performing arts is dawning. The organization is in full development, and we moved to new premises (Boorstraat 107, Utrecht) in April 2025. We are building a distinctive home where our doors are always open. Where there's ample opportunity for local talent and internationally distinguished performing artists. Where there's continuous cross-pollination between artists, audiences, and the community. We're building a strong foundation from which to expand our reach across the country and the world.
