Theater Utrecht creates space to talk about care. How do you care for yourself? How do we care for each other? Under the motto STAY SOFT, we create a monthly program about an aspect of care. We will discuss, among other topics, the healthcare system, burnout, activism, the new generation, the planet, and self-care. We create (to use Goldendean's words) soft spaces for difficult conversations.
In House
In a world full of change and (global) crises, we at Theater Utrecht are searching for what connects us. Nearby and far away, internationally and locally. From our own Centre for Performing Arts on Boorstraat, we delve together into everything that is happening: in the city, in the theater, and in society.
Every week we organize programs where art, current events, and conversation come together. We exchange ideas or seek depth together. Theater Utrecht is the meeting place for creators, thinkers, activists, scientists, and the public to share ideas and discover new perspectives.

The Utrecht Book Bar x Theater Utrecht
The Utrecht Book Bar is a bookstore specializing in literature, art, photography, and cookbooks. Besides being a place to buy books, The Utrecht Book Bar is a space where book lovers can meet and get inspired in the realm of books. Organizing events in collaboration with cultural organizations, publishers, writers, and local artists makes The Utrecht Book Bar a cultural hotspot where social interaction and books are at the center.
In the house of Theater Utrecht, there is a branch of The Utrecht Book Bar, where interested individuals can also purchase a book. The selection will largely resonate with the themes and program lines of Theater Utrecht.
