Based in Rotterdam, Eva van Manen is a songwriter, artist, and music producer who weaves pop, electronica, and spoken word into a genre-transcending sound that balances protest and vulnerability.
Eva van Manen's third album Tussenruimte (April 2026) is about the longing for different forms of togetherness: friendly togetherness, romantic togetherness, and social togetherness in a fragmented world. This bringing together is already intrinsically rooted in Eva's instincts as an artist: merging forms and disciplines—as a producer, singer-songwriter, and poet. It is precisely the space in between that has characterized Eva's work so far: between politics and love, between word and sound, between protest and vulnerability, humanity and nature. On Tussenruimte, Eva embraces many different influences in both style and lyrics: the quiet, inner world and the rhythmic outside world.
The illustration on the cover – created by Brian Elstak – shows Eva dressed in her space suit, surrounded by sunlight and oxygen. A telling image of someone breaking free from distorted images. Within this apparent contradiction, Tussenruimte operates in a fragile but powerful field of tension, between setting boundaries and longing for intimacy. This forms the core of the album – and the search for a shared space.
