Immens

Immens is a musical, philosophical, and humorous performance inspired by the ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche: the philosopher with the hammer. Where does the beauty lie in his ideas? And where does the danger lie? Director Casper Vandeputte and actor Vincent van der Valk wrote an award-winning text and created a musical theater solo in which they explore how much truth a person can tolerate.
Van der Valk dives into the role of funky street musician Fritz, who has recently begun to be honest, truly honest. He jokes with the audience, he sings, he dances. Suddenly, his imagination comes to life, and the choir sings along to his heartfelt cries in unison. Van der Valk composed the music, which ranges from electro-funk to Wagnerian opera. Immens premiered on Oerol on June 14, 2019 and was on show in theaters until November 2019. In September 2020, Immens was selected for the Official Jury Selection of the Dutch Theater Festival 2020 as one of the best performances of the season. Now, after dozens of packed evenings, Fritz is returning!
