Sixteen-year-old Salomé is in a youth detention center for assaulting two classmates. She is angry and confused. Among her fellow inmates and an irritating psychologist, she tries to keep her cool. But thoughts of her parents, her sister, and everything they've been through together race through her mind. Chaos in her head—because of her experiences in prison, what happened before, and what awaits her when she gets out. Because what does it feel like to truly (not) belong—or to be different?

Casper Vandeputte is a writer and director who has been creating acclaimed productions for young audiences for years, including Quake, Bloedlink, and STOM. He has a talent for making life’s big and difficult themes open for discussion, always seeking genuine emotion, humor, and poignancy. Collaborations between Theater Utrecht and DOX consistently result in bold, energetic, and musical performances. You can expect Confrontaties to be an emotional rollercoaster full of driving rhythms, dance, and chillingly good acting.
