Job opening for Cook x/v/ m

Do you enjoy cooking, working in a structured way, and being part of a dynamic theatre environment? Theater Utrecht is looking for a cook for our café, five days per week, starting early April 2026. The café is open from Monday to Friday.

In this role, you are responsible for preparing a fresh, vegetarian lunch buffet on a daily basis. You cook a different dish each day and are encouraged to contribute ideas for the menu. Creativity is highly valued, you actively think along about new dishes, seasonal ingredients, and surprising combinations.

Together with the hospitality coordinator 

You work independently in the kitchen, support the team during busy moments when needed, and coordinate planning together with the hospitality coordinator. You maintain high food quality standards and ensure a clean, organized workspace. You also take into account waste, inventory, and efficient mise en place, ensuring a smooth lunch service.

The café is open five days a week, from Monday to Friday, with a focus on lunch and theatre related activities.

What we offer:

An inspiring workplace within a passionate and socially engaged theatre company, with an informal working atmosphere. In addition to a competitive salary between €2,897 and €4,221 gross per month (based on the Theatre and Dance Collective Labour Agreement, scale 5), we offer opportunities for development, training, and a Podiumpas (theatre pass). You will receive a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension to a permanent position.
