As part of SEXODUS, we’re launching the sticker WE DEMAND THE RIGHT TO LOOK LIKE OURSELVES (text from the performance, written by Bregje Hofstede).

With this action, we aim to expose a system that profits from the insecurity that is systematically imposed on us. Beauty posters at bus stops, ads for cosmetic procedures, diet campaigns, film posters featuring only thin, young bodies; even a short walk outside feeds you images that dictate how you’re supposed to look. Enough of a system that tells us what we should look like. It’s time to reclaim that image!

Order your free stickers via our webshop, pick them up at Theater Utrecht, or during any SEXODUS performance dates. The stickers are for personal use. Use them on images that, in your view, contribute to the sexualisation, unrealistic portrayal, or exploitation of (women’s) bodies. Or simply stick them on your window, bike, car, or laptop.

Please note: this is not a critique of the models, but of the industry that exploits them.
