Vincent Wijlhuizen is a Utrecht-based dramaturg, programmer and advisor with over twenty years of experience in the Dutch and international performing arts. He works interdisciplinarily across theatre, dance, opera and performance, collaborating with companies, festivals and development institutions.
He was co-founder and for many years artistic and managing director of What You See Festival, an international festival focused on gender diversity and inclusivity in art and culture. He was also affiliated with Nederlandse Dansdagen for seventeen years as director, project leader and interim managing director, contributing to its artistic profile, context programmes and international collaborations.
At Theater Utrecht Vincent serves as company dramaturg. In this role, he contributes to the company’s artistic and multi-voiced signature and its societal impact. He supports the development of the company, facilitates dialogue between makers, guides artistic development trajectories and acts as a conceptual bridge between the company and the wider world.
As a dramaturg, he collaborates on dance and theatre productions, operas and documentaries. He is house dramaturg at Kalpanarts. In addition, he works as an advisor and process facilitator for organisations in transition, including in the areas of artistic leadership and organisational development.
