With What You See Research, we—together with Maas Theater and Dance—create space for artistic experimentation and vulnerability. And you’re invited to witness it up close! For two weeks, theatre maker Tim Schouten and dance theatre collective SERIOOS will dive into their artistic explorations, and during the festival, they’ll open their studio doors to the public.
Tim Schouten explores how parents and children from Christian rainbow families navigate the tension between faith and queer identity. These stories and experiences serve as inspiration to further weave this theme into his own work and life.
The balance between lightness and heaviness in a world full of crises lies at the heart of SERIOOS’ research. When does joy become uncomfortable? And how can hope and playfulness persist amid social and personal tensions?
