Workshop: Crip Technique in Performance
Following her performance lecture 4 Legs Good, internationally renowned crip choreographer Claire Cunningham invites professional performing artists—with and without physical or sensory disabilities—to a workshop of discovery and experimentation.
Claire will share what “crip technique” means to her: the people and practices that have inspired her, and the ideas that led to her unique movement practice, “quanimacy.” Together, participants will explore perception, individuality, and awareness of how diverse bodies and lived experiences shape the way we understand ourselves and the world around us.
The workshop interweaves movement, language, writing, looking, listening, and feeling with time for reflection, conversation, and generous rest breaks.
Accessibility: The space is wheelchair accessible, includes a quiet area, and will have a sign language interpreter present.
