An intimate, poetic and physical duet about dying and saying goodbye

In the middle of a no-man's-land stands a house where two lovers meet. One is ill and fleeing an inevitable end. The other is a war correspondent returning from a life-altering trip to a conflict zone. In a race against time, the past forces itself upon them, forcing them to dissect each other to the bone. When the world breaks through the walls and the room proves too small for their conflict, they journey to the place where an incomprehensible loss lies buried deep beneath the hot sand. One thing is certain: in the deepest darkness lies an even greater darkness.

Panic Room is an intimate and physical performance about dying and saying goodbye. Where does the right to a longer life end and the responsibility for another's death begin? After their successful collaboration on the family drama Sea of Silence, Floor Houwink ten Cate, Esther Duysker, and Abke Haring join forces with Jacob Derwig for Panic Room.
