SHINE is about finding self-confidence and learning to embrace who you are, especially when you’re faced with negativity, expectations, and uncertainty. The performance explores what it means to be of African descent and to grow up in the Netherlands, addressing themes such as liberation, authenticity, joy, connection, and vulnerability.
In an energetic performance, five young hip-hop dancers of color take you on their journey toward identity and self-acceptance. Drawing from their own experiences, they explore topics such as body positivity, insecurity, and the various identities we carry within us.
