In 2016, Goldendean brought their soft, large, queer, trans body to the public’s attention and was branded a monster. Their white body, clad in a custom-made printed cotton suit bearing the words FUCK WHITE PEOPLE, sparked a massive outcry and a historic lawsuit regarding freedom of speech. Their book follows this experience, exploring strategies of self-reflection, radical sharing, and queer disobedience.
Join us as we create a soft space for hard questions. Through engaging in narrative repair, we aim to mobilise organisers into stronger, non-extractive social relationships by working together with our hands and our bodies in the soft space that allows us to release each other, and the systems we serve or struggle with.
Join us as we create a soft space for hard questions. Through narrative repair (storytelling and working together with our hands and bodies), we invite participants to reflect on how they can bring people together, build relationships, create change, and how they can do so without reproducing exploitative dynamics. In working with the material in the book, sorting and rearranging it, we invite participants to engage with the book and reflect on their own relationship to it.
