How can memories and sounds be passed on rather than held onto? These questions are explored through a collective listening experience in which the audience and performers come together to listen to each other and to their memories.

What do you remember? And what do you forget?

In this space, memories return as sound—but they are not always our own. They mingle with others' memories and overlap with sounds that exist across different times and places. Listening is understood as an act of deep longing; it is the struggle to meet someone across a vast, open sea – knowing that such a meeting may be impossible.

By foregrounding listening over sight, the performance opens a porous theatrical world, opening our bodies and creating the possibility of connection with others. How can we listen deeply and connect, both in the theater and in life?

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hearin Jeong is a theater maker and interdisciplinary artist from South Korea. She investigates theatrical phenomena that occur around a narrative, exploring how bodies in performance relate to the world. Since 2021, she has developed the series, examining the fictions and encounters between hearing and telling, seeing and being seen. Reinterpreting listening as a theatrical methodology, Hearin’s work blurs the boundaries between seeing and hearing, and between events and sensations, inviting audiences to experience the possibility of connection, community, and love.
