Innovation:Lab heeft vanaf januari/februari 2023 ruimte voor een stagiair (x/m/v) voor de afdeling Productie voor 5 maanden. De exacte periode is bespreekbaar.
Over Theater Utrecht
Theater Utrecht is het stadsgezelschap van Utrecht en brengt geëngageerd, hoogwaardig en cutting edge theater voor een zo breed mogelijk publiek. We spelen theaters door het hele land en zijn regelmatig op locatie en op festivals met producties van verschillende makers. Ons eigen theater De Paardenkathedraal is onze thuisbasis, maar we zijn ook een vaste gast in Stadsschouwburg Utrecht. We houden onze ogen wijd open voor de wereld, reflecteren op de vraagstukken van morgen in de context van de geschiedenis, putten uit allerlei mogelijke bronnen: van eeuwenoud tot gloednieuw, van proza en film tot poëzie. Onze makers experimenteren ongeremd met nieuwe technieken, vertelvormen en publieksrelaties en verkennen zo bewust het extreme bereik van theater.
Over Innovation:Lab
Innovation:Lab van Theater Utrecht – in samenwerking met DOX en de HKU – is een nieuw initiatief dat in januari 2021 van start is gegaan. Het doel is om samen met creatieven uit verschillende industrieën en achtergronden (van theatermakers tot softwareontwikkelaars) mee te bouwen aan het theater van de toekomst. Innovatie, co-creatie en inclusiviteit staan voorop. Hoe ziet de mensheid er over tien of honderd jaar uit? Hoe ziet het theater van morgen eruit? Welke rol gaat technologie hierin spelen? Veel kunstvormen hebben verhalen te vertellen, maar de vormen die we gebruiken om die verhalen te vertellen, raken steeds verder verwijderd van de complexiteit van de wereld waarin we leven. Hoe vertellen we de verhalen van morgen met de technologie van vandaag?
Functieomschrijving
In deze stageplek assisteer je de productieafdeling en help je de productieprocessen van het Innovation:Lab in goede banen te leiden. Aan de hand van gezamenlijk geformuleerde leerdoelen stellen we een aantal kerntaken op waar je zelfstandig aan gaat werken, in lijn met je eigen wensen en behoeften. Je wordt begeleid door een productieleider en hoofd creatieve operaties.
Het gaat o.a. om
• De reisorganisatie van makers, zoals het regelen van vervoer, hotels, catering, etc.;
• Notuleren van productievergaderingen;
• Overige activiteiten die samenhangen met een productieproces, zoals expertmeetups en workshops;
• Algemene ondersteuning bij alle voorkomende werkzaamheden van de afdeling;
• Organisatie van locaties en materialen die nodig zijn voor producties.
• Assisteren met e-mails en planningstaken.
Wij zoeken
Wij zijn op zoek naar een enthousiaste student met een hart voor theater en innovatie. Iemand die wil leren en rustig blijft in soms hectische en stressvolle situaties. Het Innovation:Lab heeft de kern van technologie en productie. Daarom ben je een productieassistent waarbij het creëren van digitale media centraal staat. Vanwege het internationale imago van het Innovation:Lab vragen we om beheersing van de Engelse taal (spreken, lezen en schrijven). Ook ben je bereid om naar Utrecht af te reizen en af en toe 's avonds of in het weekend te werken.
De bovengenoemde verantwoordelijkheden en kenmerken zijn om te benadrukken waar we in wezen ondersteuning bij nodig hebben. Aarzel echter niet om te solliciteren als je minder ervaring hebt op één of meerdere punten. We bieden een platform om te ontwikkelen en te leren.

Periode

About Theater Utrecht
Theater Utrecht is the city company of Utrecht and brings committed, high-quality and cutting-edge theater to the widest possible audience. We play theaters all over the country and are regularly on location and at festivals with productions from different makers. Our own theater De Paardenkathedraal is our home base, but we are also a regular at Stadsschouwburg Utrecht. About Innovation:Lab
Innovation:Lab of Theater Utrecht – in collaboration with DOX and the HKU – is a new initiative that started in January 2021. The aim is to help build the theater of the future together with creatives from various industries and backgrounds (from theater makers to software developers). Innovation, co-creation, and inclusiveness are paramount. What will humanity look like in ten or a hundred years? What will the theater of tomorrow look like? What role will technology play in this? Many art forms have stories to tell but the forms we use to tell those stories are becoming increasingly distant from the complexity of the world we live in. How do we tell tomorrow’s stories with today’s technology?
Job description
In this internship position you will assist the production department and help steer the production processes of the Innovation:Lab in the right direction. On the basis of jointly formulated learning objectives, we draw up a number of core tasks that you will work on independently, in line with your own wishes and needs from the training. You will be supervised by a production leader and head of creative operations.
Your responsibilities
• The travel organization of makers, such as arranging transport, hotels, séjours, catering, etc.;
• Taking minutes of production meetings;
• Other occurring activities associated with a production process such as expert meetups and workshops;
• Organization of locations and materials needed for productions;
• General support of the department;
We are looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic student with a heart for theater and innovation. Someone who wants to learn and remains calm in sometimes hectic and stressful situations. The Innovation:Lab has the core of technology and production. Therefore, you will be a production assistant whereby the creation of digital media is at its essence. Due to the international image of the Innovation:Lab, we ask to have proficiency in English (speaking, reading and writing). You are also prepared to travel to Utrecht and to occasionally work in the evenings or weekends.
The abovementioned responsibilities and characteristics are to highlight what in essence we need support with. However, do not hesitate to apply if you have less experience in one or more points. We are offering a platform to develop and learn from.

In addition to a joint lunch, you will also receive an internship allowance per month. The amount is to be discussed considering number of hours and time-frame of the internship.
Period
You are available for 5 months from January/February 2023 for 4 or 5 days a week (The time-frame is negotiable. If you are not available full-time, we invite you to apply). We determine the exact period in consultation with you.
