Theater Utrecht’s Innovation:Lab is on the look out for makers, experts and creatives who would like to work on an integral question regarding the future. How can we redefine the theater experience through technology during a two-day Hackathon?
Do you have an idea, expertise or knowledge that can aid us in answering this question during the hackathon? Then you are in the right spot! Register before November 21, 2022! And make sure to note the weekend in your calendar.

The Hackathon will take place on 26 and 27 November, 2022 from 10:00 – 22:00 in De Paardendenkathedraal, Veeartenijstraat 155 in Utrecht. During these two days, we offer you the opportunity, the technology and the space to start researching a new way of theater experience alone or with a team. This can be an investigation into the influence of time on an experience, the impact of space on a performance, reinventing a storyline or something completely new. Surprise us!
During the Hackathon we will provide a variety of coaches to guide your ideation process into a concept. During your coaching hours, you will come up with key concepts to research and tackle throughout the Hackathon. In addition to that, those key concepts can be validated and verified with the use of technology that we will facilitate at the Hackathon.
This way you are able to use the concepting and technological experience in your presentation. The presentation process will be announced before the Hackathon with additional details such as background material preparations that can help your coach understand your idea faster. However, note that we are not looking for a final working prototype within two days. We are looking for artistic concepting, critical research question(s) and technological aspects that can validate your questions.
At the end of these two days, you will present your detailed idea to a jury. Will your idea be selected? Then you will have the opportunity to further develop your idea in our Innovation:Lab. You will get the opportunity to present your prototype during the Innovation:Lab immersive art festival 2023.

To be selected as a participant in the Hackathon, please fill out the form below. Provide a good motivation so that we really get to know you and we see why your expertise or idea is indispensable.

Het Innovation:Lab van Theater Utrecht zoekt makers, experts en creatives die tijdens een twee dagen durende Hackathon willen werken aan antwoorden op de vraag: Hoe kunnen we de theaterbeleving herdefiniëren door middel van technologie? Heb jij een idee, een expertise of heb je kennis die nodig is om te komen tot antwoorden tijdens deze hackathon? Dan zoeken we jou. Meld je voor 21 november via onderstaand formulier. Word je geselecteerd, dan ontvang je voor 21 november het verlossende mailtje. Houd je agenda dus vrij!

De Hackathon vindt plaats op 26 en 27 november van 10:00 – 22:00 uur in de Paardenkathedraal, Veeartenijstraat 155 in Utrecht. Tijdens deze twee dagen bieden wij jou de mogelijkheid, de technologie en de ruimte om alleen of samen met een team een onderzoek te starten naar een nieuwe manier van theaterbeleving. Dit kan een onderzoek zijn naar de invloed van tijd op een beleving, de impact van ruimte op een voorstelling, het opnieuw uitvinden van een verhaallijn of iets totaal nieuws. Verras ons! Aan het eind van deze twee dagen presenteer jij jouw uitgewerkte idee aan een jury. Wordt jouw idee geselecteerd? Dan krijg je de kans om jouw idee verder uit te werken in ons Innovation:Lab. Daarnaast presenteer je jouw prototype tijdens het Innovation:Lab Immersive Art Festival 2023.
